St. Francis let Boyne City stack seven runs on them in the third inning on Thursday but luckily St. Francis prevailed anyway. The Gladiators narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Ramblers 9-8. The victory continues a trend for the Gladiators in their matchups with the Ramblers: they've now won nine in a row.

The win got St. Francis back to even at 7-7. As for Boyne City, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost seven of their last eight contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-10 record this season.

St. Francis will face off against Mancelona at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Boyne City, they will take on Plymouth Christian Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The Ramblers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Eagles have averaged an impressive 7.4 runs per game this season.
