Baseball Recap: Fasman Yeshiva vs. Rauner Wildcats
Fasman Yeshiva gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Friday. They were the clear victors by a 16-1 margin over the Rauner Wildcats.
Yair Aberman looked comfortable as he struck out six batters over two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and only one walk).
At the plate, Fasman Yeshiva got a big performance out of Yahu Greenberger, who scored a run while going 2-for-2. Another player making a difference was Yakir Schwartz, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3.
Fasman Yeshiva always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .667. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Rauner only posted an OBP of .267.
Rauner's loss was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-2.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Fasman Yeshiva will host Cristo Rey Jesuit at 1:30 p.m. on Sunday. As for Rauner, a feisty cat fight will be fought as Rauner Wildcats duke it out with Golder Panthers at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
