Football Game Preview: South Holt/Nodaway-Holt vs. North Nodaway/West Nodaway

It will be a battle of North versus South on Friday as South Holt/Nodaway-Holt square off against North Nodaway/West Nodaway at 7:00 PM. South Holt/Nodaway-Holt have seen their point totals decreasing over the past three games, a vulnerability North Nodaway/West Nodaway are surely hoping to exploit.

South Holt/Nodaway-Holt found themselves the reluctant recipients of an unpleasant 12-40 punch to the gut against Rock Port last Friday. Despite the loss, South Holt/Nodaway-Holt saw an underclassman step up: Freshman Gannon Phelan threw 2 TDs and picked up 39 yards on the ground. Morris has now scored at least one touchdown in the past eight games.

Meanwhile, things haven't been easy for North Nodaway/West Nodaway, and their contest last Friday only extended their streak of losses to eight. They were completely outmatched, falling 8-56 to Southwest/Hale/Tina-Avalon. The game was over by the end of the first half, with no points scored by either team from that point forward.

South Holt/Nodaway-Holt took the match and then some with a 52-7 win over North Nodaway/West Nodaway the last time the two teams met. Will South Holt/Nodaway-Holt repeat their success, or does North Nodaway/West Nodaway have a better game plan this time around ? We'll find out soon enough.
