Volleyball Game Preview: Pocahontas County Warriors vs. Webster County Highlanders

After both having extra time off, the Pocahontas County Warriors and the Webster County Highlanders will shake off the rust and duke it out at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Pocahontas County will be strutting in after a victory while Webster County will be coming in after a defeat.

Pocahontas County got their first taste of in-conference action on Wednesday and they started things off strong. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Tygarts Valley, sneaking past 2-1. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Warriors.

Pocahontas County had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next two. The match finished with set scores of 20-25, 25-18, 27-25.

Meanwhile, Webster County was not able to break out of their rough patch last Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They lost 3-0 to Buckhannon-Upshur.

Webster County's defeat dropped their record down to 4-10. As for Pocahontas County, their win bumped their record up to 2-16.

Pocahontas County might still be hurting after the 3-0 loss they got from Webster County in their previous matchup back in September. Can the Warriors avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
