Baseball Recap: Russellville Takes a Loss

Russellville was the 6-1 winner over Lawrence County when they last played one another back in March of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Golden Tigers fell just short of the Red Devils by a score of 7-6 on Tuesday. The Golden Tigers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Russellville saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Tripp Cleveland, who scored a run while going 2-for-4. Another was Brennon Thorpe, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.

Russellville's defeat was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 18-6. As for Lawrence County, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 17-7.

While Russellville had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
