Soccer Recap: Charlotte Catholic Starts off Right with Win over East Mecklenburg

Charlotte Catholic had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. Their defense stepped up to hand the East Mecklenburg Eagles a 2-0 shutout on Tuesday. Charlotte Catholic haven't had any issues with East Mecklenburg recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.

Emmett Drensek and Tatenda Mandiveyi scored both of Charlotte Catholic's goals, which were season-firsts for both players.

Coming up, Charlotte Catholic will look to takes advantage of their home pitch for the first time this season as they takes on Hickory at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for East Mecklenburg, they will square off against Hopewell at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
