Basketball Preview: Wellsboro Hornets vs. Troy Trojans
Wellsboro is on a seven-game streak of home wins, while the Trojans are on a seven-game streak of away wins (dating back to last season): one of those streaks is about to end. The Wellsboro Hornets will take on the Troy Trojans at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.
It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but Wellsboro ultimately got the result they hoped for on Thursday. They beat Mansfield by the very same score they won with last week: 56-52.
Meanwhile, Troy can now show off 11 landslide victories after their most recent matchup on Saturday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Lewisburg 72-32 on the road. Given Troy's advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 68th, while the Green Dragons are ranked 406th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Wellsboro has been performing well recently as they've won ten of their last 12 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 12-5 record this season. As for Troy, their win bumped their record up to 17-0.
