Baseball Recap: Laurel Takes a Loss

Laurel fell victim to New Castle and their airtight pitching crew on Saturday. They came up short against the Hurricanes, falling 10-0. The contest marked the first time this year in which the Spartans were not able to get on the board.

Laurel has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-5 record this season. As for New Castle, their win bumped their record up to 2-6.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Laurel will face off against Freedom Area at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The Bulldogs have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 9.89 runs per game on average), something the Spartans will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for New Castle, they will challenge Taylor Allderdice at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
