Football Game Preview: Checotah Wildcats vs. Inola Longhorns + Official Tickets

The Checotah Wildcats will square off against the Inola Longhorns at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Checotah hadn't beaten Eufaula on the road since September 15, 2017 but that history sure didn't bother them on Friday. The Wildcats came out on top against the Ironheads by a score of 21-14. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Wildcats.

Checotah found their leader in sophomore Cole Rolland, who rushed for 100 yards and one score, and also caught one TD. Rolland's rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his third straight game with at least 100 rushing yards. Another player making a difference was Jayden Ellen, who rushed for 71 yards and one touchdown.

Checotah didn't let much get past them through the air: they limited Eufaula to a completion percentage of just 31.8%. That dominant aerial defense primarily came from five players: Logan Crawford, Landynn Thomason, Tommy Calico, Hudson Pollard, and Carter Sisson, who each logged one passes deflected. Checotah wasn't nearly as limited: they posted one of 54.2%.

Meanwhile, Inola got the win against Cleveland on Thursday by a conclusive 35-13. The result was nothing new for the Longhorns, who have now won seven matchups by 20 points or more so far this season.

Checotah's record now sits at 6-4. As for Inola, their record is now 8-2.

Everything came up roses for Checotah against Inola in their previous meeting back in November of 2020, as the squad secured a 47-17 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Wildcats since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
