BASIS - Mesa stacked a seventh blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Wednesday. They put the hurt on Academy with Community Partners with a sharp 54-29 victory. The win was familiar territory for BASIS - Mesa who now have four in a row.
Academy with Community Partners' loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Ohzeaya Carson, who scored 13 points along with seven rebounds and two steals. That's the first time this season that Carson grabbed two or more steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Kimani Hamilton, who scored six points along with five assists and four steals.
BASIS - Mesa is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 8-3 record this season. As for Academy with Community Partners, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-4.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. BASIS - Mesa will take on East Valley at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Academy with Community Partners, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Skyline - Gila River at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. One thing working in Skyline - Gila River's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last six contests.
