Softball Recap: Mission College Prep Victorious

Mission College Prep won the last time they faced Arroyo Grande and things went their way on Monday too. The Royals walked away with a 4-1 win over the Eagles.

Dani Rivas was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 12 batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in four consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with two RBI.

In other batting news, Samantha Rodriguez was excellent, scoring a run while going 3-for-3. Those three hits gave her a new career-high.

Mission College Prep picked up their first home victory, bumping their record up to 7-9. As for Arroyo Grande, they have been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last nine games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-12 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Mission College Prep will host Cabrillo at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Royals are facing the Conquistadores at the right time seeing as the Conquistadores are stuck on a seven-game losing streak. As for Arroyo Grande, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Righetti at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Warriors' pitching crew has only allowed 2.8 runs per game this season, so the Eagles' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
