Softball Recap: Immanuel Christian Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

Immanuel Christian had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 16 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Monday. They put the hurt on the Legacy Christian Academy Lions with a sharp 13-2 win. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 23-1 back in March.

Erin French made a splash no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out 11 over five innings pitched. Those 11 strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with three RBI and one run.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Ava Blakie, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with three stolen bases and three runs. Another player making a difference was Chloe Loughlin, who got on base in two of her four plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

Immanuel Christian's record is now 18-5. As for Legacy Christian Academy, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 5-8.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Immanuel Christian will face off against Lee Vining at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Tigers have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 12.25 runs per game on average), something the Crusaders will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Legacy Christian Academy, they will square off against Alpaugh at 4:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
