Basketball Recap: Martinsville Takes a Loss

After flying high against Dugger Union on Saturday, Martinsville came back down to earth. The Martinsville Bluestreaks took a hard 67-48 fall against Oblong/Hutsonville/Palestine on Saturday. The Bluestreaks were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced Oblong/Hutsonville/Palestine earlier this season, when they won 56-47.

Martinsville dropped their record down to 12-14 with the loss, which was their fourth straight at home. As for Oblong/Hutsonville/Palestine, their win ended a five-game drought on the road and puts them at 8-13.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Martinsville will face off against Dieterich at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Oblong/Hutsonville/Palestine, they will head out on the road to square off against Newton at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Oblong/Hutsonville/Palestine has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last five games.
