Basketball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Andon Olson and Isaac Cronin Lead Valentine to Victory

Valentine hadn't done well against McCook recently (they were 1-7 in their previous eight matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Saturday. Valentine walked away with an 81-74 win over the McCook Bison. This was payback for Valentine, who suffered a 52-41 loss the last time these two teams met.

Valentine was led to victory by Isaac Cronin and Andon Olson. Cronin almost dropped a double-double on 31 points and nine rebounds, while Olson dropped a double-double on 27 points and ten boards. The dominant performance gave Cronin a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Dominic Beebout, who posted 11 points.

The victory got Valentine back to even at 1-1. As for McCook, they dropped their record down to 1-1 with the defeat, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Valentine will challenge Mullen at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for McCook, they will square off against Norton at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
