Basketball Recap: Wilson's Win on Thursday Extends Winning Streak to Three

It was a proper cat-fight when Wilson duked it out withLincoln on Thursday. The Wilson Wildcats strolled past the Lincoln Tigers with points to spare, taking the game 70-56. The win was familiar territory for the Wildcats who have now won three contests in a row.

Wilson's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Isaac Lwate led the charge by putting up ten points in addition to six assists and six rebounds. Those six boards gave Lwate a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Damiran Smith, who went 6 of 12 on his way to 14 points and seven rebounds.

Lincoln's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jakorian Jackson, who posted 18 points. Jackson is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 18 or more in the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Montrell Horner, who had 13 points.

Wilson has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matches, which provided a massive bump to their 10-9 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 67.4 points per game. As for Lincoln, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-12.

Wilson didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 58-53 victory against Nimitz on the 27th. As for Lincoln, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 73-56 win against Yazoo City on the 27th.
