Softball Recap: Quincy Finds Home Field Redemption Against Galesburg

There's no place like home for Quincy, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Monday. They came out on top against the Galesburg Silver Streaks on Tuesday by a score of 13-3 (the very same score they lost by in their prior game). The victory continues a trend for the Blue Devils in their matchups with the Silver Streaks: they've now won four in a row.

Quincy got a massive performance out of Maycee Seward, who went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. Those two stolen bases gave Seward a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Maggie Neally, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one triple, two RBI, and one double.

Quincy was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .400. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their batting average total in three consecutive contests.

Quincy's record is now 6-11. As for Galesburg, they dropped their record down to 0-22 with the defeat, which was their 15th straight on the road dating back to last season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Quincy will take on Moline at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Maroons will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each game than the last. As for Galesburg, they will face off against Geneseo at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
