Recap: Morgan Trojans vs. Manti Templars
After a string of seven wins, The Morgan Trojans''s good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They took a hard 35-21 fall against Manti. Morgan was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Manti apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in September of 2022.
It was another big night for Maison Starkweather, who threw for 299 yards and three touchdowns, and also punched in a rushing score. Starkweather hasn't dropped below three passing touchdowns for four straight games. Stone Mortensen was in the mix as well, providing Manti with two touchdowns.
Manti's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB six times. The heavy lifting was done by Mac Olsen and Lincoln Alder who racked up five sacks between them.
Morgan's defeat dropped their record down to 8-4. As for Manti, their win was their third straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 10-2.
Morgan does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Manti will face off against Richfield at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. Richfield has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 118 points over their last three games.
