Baseball Recap: Sudan's Winning Streak Snapped at Six Games

It was a good run, but Sudan unfortunately witnessed the end of their six-game winning streak on Saturday. They came up short against the Olton Mustangs, falling 17-7. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Hornets have suffered since February 27th.

Cal Carter was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-3 with two runs and one triple. That triple marked the first that he hit this season. Kincaid Boehning was another key player, going 1-for-3 with three RBI and one double.

Sudan's defeat was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 7-1 and their overall record down to 15-7. As for Olton, their victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 6-12.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Sudan will host New Deal at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The Hornets' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Lions have averaged an impressive 9.1 runs per game this season. As for Olton, they will look to defend their home field on Monday against Hale Center at 4:00 p.m. The Owls have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 8.18 runs per game on average), something the Mustangs will no doubt try to take advantage of.
