Basketball Game Preview: Port Gibson Blue Waves vs. Raymond Rangers

The Port Gibson Blue Waves just played yesterday, but they'll still head out to face the Raymond Rangers at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Port Gibson not only won on Friday, but they posted their biggest win since November 19, 2024 (when they won 57-4). They claimed a resounding 60-17 victory over Wilkinson County. The win continues a trend for the Blue Waves in their matchups with the Wildcats: they've now won eight in a row.

Raymond hadn't beaten Terry on the road since December 9, 2022 but that history sure didn't bother them on Friday. The Rangers walked away with a 60-51 victory over the Bulldogs.

Raymond now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Port Gibson, the win got them back to even at 1-1.

Port Gibson took a serious blow against Raymond in their previous meeting back in November of 2024, falling 54-25. Can the Blue Waves avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
