Soccer Game Preview: Mira Monte vs. Ridgeview

The Mira Monte Lions will be defending their home pitch for the first time this season when they go up against the Ridgeview Wolf Pack at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Mira Monte is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 3 goals per game this season.

Mira Monte saw some tournament action on Friday. They had just enough and edged Arvin out 2-1. Given the Lions' advantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 64th, while the Bears are ranked 438th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Joshua Montoya and Gabriel Perez scored both of Mira Monte's goals, bringing their combined season tally to five goals.

Meanwhile, Ridgeview waltzed into their matchup on Friday with two straight wins... but they left with three. Their defense stepped up to hand the Highlanders a 2-0 shutout.

The victory made it two in a row for Mira Monte and bumps their season record up to 7-1-1. As for Ridgeview, their win bumped their record up to 5-1.
