Basketball Recap: Quaboag Regional Comes Up Short

After some red-hot attacks on offense in their last three matchups, Quaboag Regional finally came back down to earth on Friday. They had to suffer through a 59-27 loss at the hands of the Uxbridge Spartans. The loss continues a trend for the Cougars in their matchups with the Spartans: they've now lost seven in a row.

Uxbridge's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Darren Oliver led the charge by putting up 11 points. Another player making a difference was Rogan Devlin, who posted nine points.

Quaboag Regional's defeat dropped their record down to 4-8. As for Uxbridge, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 8-4 record this season.

Quaboag Regional will be playing at home against Mahar Regional at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Uxbridge, they are taking a road trip to square off against Nipmuc Regional at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Nipmuc Regional knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past five contests -- so hopefully Uxbridge likes a good challenge.
