Basketball Recap: Omaha R Roadrunners vs. Varsity Opponent
After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Lincoln HomeSchool, the Omaha R Roadrunners were happy to have found some success on Thursday. They strolled past Varsity Opponent with points to spare, taking the game 53-36. That looming 53-36 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for Omaha R yet this season.
Omaha R found their leader in underclassman Stephen Vankat, who scored 26 points along with seven rebounds and four steals. Jack Vankat was another key contributor, scoring 11 points.
Omaha R's win bumped their record up to 5-7. As for Varsity Opponent, they are on a 18-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 354-1281-2.
Omaha R will be playing in front of their home fans against the at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Varsity Opponent is no doubt hoping to put an end to a 23-game streak of away losses. As for they, they will head out on the road to take on Rocky Hill Country Day at 5:30 a.m. on Friday.
