Basketball Recap: Questa Comes Up Short

Questa was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss. They were dealt a 75-48 defeat at the hands of the Mesa Vista Trojans. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Trojans this season, with their most recent loss being a 74-48 defeat two weeks ago.

Questa lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Carlos Ortega, who posted nine points. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in boards (four). Juan Cisneros was another key player, putting up eight points and nine rebounds.

Even though they lost, Questa smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in 11 consecutive matchups.

Questa's loss dropped their record down to 4-17. As for Mesa Vista, the victory (which was their ninth in a row) raised their record to 19-4.

Questa didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 76-36 defeat against Mora on the 13th. As for Mesa Vista, they have also already played their next contest, a 66-30 win against Escalante on the 13th.
