Volleyball Recap: Greenfield Comes Up Short

Greenfield and West Allis Central squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Greenfield had to settle for second. They came up short against the Bulldogs, falling 3-0. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Hustlin' Hawks have suffered since October 1st.

While Greenfield had to settle for second, they sure made a game of it, scoring at least 19 points in every set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-20, 25-19, 25-20.

Trevor Schueller paced Greenfield's offense, picking up nine kills. Schueller got some help from Romario Ortega and his 17 assists. Ortega was also a major player on defense: he and Ryan Walhovd shared the team lead in blocks, finishing with two each.

Greenfield has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last eight matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-14 record this season. As for West Allis Central, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 18-16 record this season.

Greenfield does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for West Allis Central, they will take on Franklin on Tuesday.
