Baseball Recap: Newberry Comes Up Short

Newberry and Trinity Catholic squared off in some playoff action on Tuesday, but Newberry had to settle for second. They came up short against the Celtics, falling 13-3.

Trey Priester made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 2-for-2 with two RBI and one double.

Newberry's loss dropped their record down to 11-8. As for Trinity Catholic, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 10-16.

Newberry does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Trinity Catholic, they will face off against Keystone Heights at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Celtics' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Indians have averaged an impressive 7.6 runs per game this season.
