Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Hayfield). They walked away with a 3-1 win over the Mount Vernon Majors on Tuesday. That's more bragging rights for Hayfield, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Hayfield's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-8-1. As for Mount Vernon, they dropped their record down to 2-8 with the defeat, which was their third straight at home.

Coming up, Hayfield will face off against Edison at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. As for Mount Vernon, they wasted no time getting back out on the pitch and have already played their next game, a 6-0 loss against Falls Church on the 30th.
