California had already won three in a row and they went ahead and made it four on Saturday. They walked away with a 2-0 win over the Lakewood Lancers.

While California won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the first set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 27-25, 25-16.

California's victory bumped their record up to 16-11. As for Lakewood, their loss dropped their record down to 6-12.

California and Lakewood could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps California Rankings. The Condors will challenge Foothill at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday with a big rank disadvantage (292 vs. 138). Meanwhile, Lakewood (ranked 540th) will meet Long Beach Poly (ranked 112th) at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
