Softball Recap: Spackenkill Takes a Loss

The Spackenkill Spartans didn't have quite enough to beat the Roosevelt Presidents on Thursday and fell 7-6. The Spartans have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Adriana Alessandro and Addison Whitted stepped up to the plate in a big way. Alessandro went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one double, and one RBI, while Whitted went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. Olivia Simon was another key player, going 1-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Spackenkill's record is now 7-6. As for Roosevelt, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-9.

Coming up, Spackenkill will head out on the road to challenge Pawling at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Roosevelt, they will be playing at home against Marlboro Central at 4:15 p.m. on Monday. The Dukes will roll in looking for their 14th straight win, something the Presidents surely won't give up without a fight.
