Basketball Recap: Mitchell Marauders vs. Elizabeth Cardinals
Mitchell was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They came up short against the Elizabeth Cardinals, falling 44-21. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Marauders this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 39-20 back in January.
Elizabeth was led to victory by Aliana Quintana-Ritter and London Machado. Quintana-Ritter almost dropped a double-double on ten points and nine rebounds, while Machado posted four points and eight steals. With that strong performance, Quintana-Ritter is now averaging an impressive 2.2 steals per game. Another player making a difference was Halli Connelley, who went 7 for 16 en route to 14 points in addition to five boards and four steals.
Mitchell's defeat dropped their record down to 3-15. As for Elizabeth, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a massive bump to their 7-8 record this season.
