Softball Game Preview: Alamogordo Tigers vs. Las Cruces Bulldawgs

For the second straight game, Alamogordo will face off against Las Cruces. The Tigers will head out on the road to challenge the Bulldawgs at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.

Alamogordo is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of New Mexico's top teams: Las Cruces, who was ranked seventh at the time (Alamogordo was ranked fifth). The Tigers fell just short of the Bulldawgs by a score of 5-4 on Monday.

For Las Cruces' part, they saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Erica Silva, who went 1-for-4 with one run and one RBI.

Las Cruces is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.9 runs on average over those games. As for Alamogordo, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 12-9.
