Basketball Recap: Newman International Academy Comes Up Short

Newman International Academy lost against DasCHE back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Newman International Academy Warriors were dealt a 79-45 defeat at the hands of the DasCHE Spartans. The Warriors were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 48-15.

DasCHE was led to victory by Jadon Comeaux and Moses Obudo. Comeaux went 8 of 11 en route to 19 points and three steals, while Obudo went 6 of 11 on his way to 17 points and seven boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Amaree Saffold, who posted 13 points.

This is the second loss in a row for Newman International Academy and nudges their season record down to 9-16. As for DasCHE, they have been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine games, which provided a nice bump to their 13-8 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Newman International Academy will challenge ILTexas Arlington at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for DasCHE, they will host Red River at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. DasCHE is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 62.8 points per game this season.
