Football Game Preview: Chesaning Indians vs. Montrose Rams

The Chesaning Indians will head out to square off against the Montrose Rams at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Chesaning has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the matchup with four straight losses, while Montrose will come in with five straight victories.

Chesaning's offense might be in the hot seat on Friday considering what happened against Birch Run on Friday. They were dealt a 49-0 defeat at the hands of the Panthers.

For whatever reason, it's the away team that's had the advantage when Montrose and Ovid-Elsie meet (three straight games heading into this one) and that held true again on Friday. The Rams secured a 14-10 W over the Marauders. The 14-point effort marked the Rams' lowest-scoring game of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

Chesaning's loss dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Montrose, their win bumped their record up to 5-0.

Everything came up roses for Chesaning against Montrose in their previous matchup back in October of 2024, as the team secured a 50-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Indians since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
