Baseball Recap: Three Straight Home Victories for Stanwood

Stanwood won the last time they faced Marysville Getchell and things went their way on Monday too. The Spartans came out on top against Marysville Getchell by a score of 4-1. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Spartans.

Stanwood got a great performance from Gavin Morrow as he didn't allow a single earned run over 4.2 innings pitched. What's more, Morrow posted two strikeouts, the most he's had since back in March.

At the plate, Stanwood let Jaxson Beard and Luke Brennan run wild. Beard went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run, while Brennan went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. That's the most stolen bases Beard has posted since back in March.

Stanwood's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-2. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for Marysville Getchell, they have been struggling recently as they've lost nine of their last 11 contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-12 record this season.
