Softball Recap: Post Gets the Win

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Post had no problem doing just that on Thursday. They came out on top against Abernathy by a score of 6-2. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 13-2 back in February.

Hannah Abraham spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on six hits and racked up nine Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Amberly Garza, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with five RBI, one run, and one double. Those five RBI gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Serenity Sanchez, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs and one double.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Post kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. They are 10-3 when they post 11 or more hits.

Post now has a winning record of 14-13. As for Abernathy, their loss dropped their record down to 15-9.

Post will have a chance to go back-to-back against Abernathy: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled on Saturday.
