Baseball Game Preview: Platte Valley vs. Arlington Eagles

Platte Valley is 8-1 against Arlington since April of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. Platte Valley will face off against Arlington at 4:30 p.m. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with four consecutive losses for Platte Valley and seven for Arlington.

Platte Valley came up short against Mount Michael Benedictine on Saturday, falling 7-1.

Platte Valley saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Braydon Dunn, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Monday just wasn't the day for Arlington's offense. They took a 3-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of Platteview on Monday.

Platte Valley's defeat dropped their record down to 5-14. As for Arlington, their loss dropped their record down to 5-12.

The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Tuesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Platte Valley has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Arlington struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 3.2 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.

Platte Valley beat Arlington 6-1 in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for Platte Valley since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
