Volleyball Recap: Mt. Pleasant Takes a Loss

Mt. Pleasant was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They lost 3-0 to the East Hickman County Eagles. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Tigers of the 3-1 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in September of 2024.

While Mt. Pleasant was kept off the board, it wasn't for a lack of trying: they cut into East Hickman County's winning margin in every set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-17, 25-18, 25-20.

East Hickman County was led to victory by Kylee Litton and Kanan Patel. Litton had 15 digs and five aces, while Patel had ten digs. Those ten digs gave Patel a new career-high.

Mt. Pleasant's defeat dropped their record down to 1-10. As for East Hickman County, their win ended an eight-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 5-7.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Mt. Pleasant will take on Collinwood at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for East Hickman County, they will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Houston County at 6:00 p.m.
