Baseball Recap: Fountain Valley Extends Home Winning Streak to Nine

Fountain Valley won the last time they faced Capistrano Valley and things went their way on Wednesday too. The Fountain Valley Barons came out on top against the Capistrano Valley Cougars by a score of 7-4. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Barons.

Andrew Harviston looked comfortable as he pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Tyler Peshke, who went 2-for-3 with one triple, two RBI, and one run. The team also got some help courtesy of Anthony Zamora, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.

Fountain Valley always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .531. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Capistrano Valley only posted an OBP of .259.

Fountain Valley pushed their record up to 2-0 with the win, which was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.8 runs over those games. As for Capistrano Valley, they now have a losing record of 2-3.
