Basketball Recap: Walnut Grove Christian Comes Up Short

If Walnut Grove Christian was feeling good fresh off their 66-18 takedown of Carolina Christian last Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Walnut Grove Christian Christian Warriors fell just short of the Liberty Preparatory Christian Academy Patriots by a score of 68-66 on Tuesday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Christian Warriors have suffered since January 22, 2024.

Despite the loss, Walnut Grove Christian saw an underclassman step up: sophomore AJ Curerton posted 30 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jack Bonagura, who earned 12 points.

Walnut Grove Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 14-11. As for Liberty Preparatory Christian Academy, their record now sits at 13-10.

As of now, neither Walnut Grove Christian nor Liberty Preparatory Christian Academy have any future games scheduled.
