Basketball Game Preview: San Francisco Waldorf Wolverines vs. Drew Dragons

San Francisco Waldorf and Drew are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2022, but not for long. The Wolverines will take on the Dragons at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Having struggled with seven losses in a row, San Francisco Waldorf turned things around against Jewish Community on Tuesday. They snuck past the Wolves with a 46-40 win.

Sam Kite was the offensive standout of the matchup as he shot 80% from the field on his way to 24 points. Those 24 points gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Aviv Zukerman, who posted 12 points.

Meanwhile, Drew earned a 72-62 victory over The Bay School on Wednesday. The Dragons haven't had any issues with the Breakers recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

San Francisco Waldorf better keep an eye on Nicholas Ordonez Reyes. He was instrumental in Drew's win, going 9-for-17 en route to 36 points in addition to seven assists and five boards. The contest was Ordonez Reyes' fourth in a row with at least 19 points. Another player making a difference was Rafa Ledesma, who shot 50% from the field to rack up 19 points and five rebounds.

San Francisco Waldorf's record now sits at 8-11. As for Drew, their record is now 16-9.

San Francisco Waldorf suffered a grim 66-45 defeat to Drew in their previous meeting back in January. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of the Dragons' Kian Chan, who went 8-for-16 on his way to 23 points. Now that the Wolverines know the damage he can cause, will they be able to stop him this time? There's only one way to find out.
