Soccer Game Preview: Clover Garden School vs. Chatham Charter

The Clover Garden School Grizzlies will challenge the Chatham Charter Knights at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Clover Garden School lost 10-2 to The Burlington School on Thursday. Things were pretty much settled by the half as Clover Garden School were already down 6-0.

Logan Coggins and Kaia Potts scored both of Clover Garden School's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 16 goals.

Meanwhile, after soaring to eight goals the game before, Chatham Charter was a bit more limited in their matchup on Thursday. They came up short against Woods Charter, falling 9-0. While losing is never fun, Chatham Charter can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina soccer rankings (they are ranked 392nd, while Woods Charter are ranked 190th).

Clover Garden School has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-6 record this season. As for Chatham Charter, their loss dropped their record down to 2-5.

Everything went Clover Garden School's way against Chatham Charter in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, as Clover Garden School made off with a 6-0 win. Will the Grizzlies repeat their success, or do the Knights have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
