Baseball Recap: Madera South Snaps Six-Game Streak of Losses on the Road

Madera South made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Torres, but they still couldn't quite topple them. Madera South put the hurt on Torres with a sharp 8-1 victory on Tuesday. The Stallions' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

David Moles made a splash no matter where he played. He pitched seven innings while giving up just one earned run off five hits. Moles was also big at the plate, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with one triple, one run, and one RBI. That RBI was his first of the season.

In other batting news, Jeremiah Montes was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while going 3-for-3. That's the most hits he has posted since back in March of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Knox Flores, who went 3-for-4 with four RBI and one double.

Madera South was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .414. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Madera South's win ended a six-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-8. As for Torres, their record is now an identical 2-8.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Madera South will take on Roosevelt at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. Roosevelt's pitching crew has only allowed 4.1 runs per game this season, so Madera South's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Torres, they will challenge Coalinga at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
