Volleyball Game Preview: Avalon Lancers vs. Tarbut V' Torah Lions

The Avalon Lancers will venture away from home to square off against the Tarbut V' Torah Lions at 10:30 a.m. on Monday.

Avalon is headed into the match having just suffered their biggest defeat since August 12th on Friday. They came up short against Samueli Academy, falling 3-0. Considering the last time the Lancers couldn't score was back in August, the team can't take the result too hard.

While Avalon was kept off the board, it wasn't for a lack of trying: they cut into Samueli Academy's winning margin in every set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-13, 25-16, 25-23.

Meanwhile, Tarbut V' Torah had to endure a three-match losing streak, but that streak is no more. They put the hurt on First Baptist with a sharp 3-0 victory last Thursday.

While Tarbut V' Torah won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the first set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-22, 25-10, 25-16.

This is the second loss in a row for Avalon and nudges their season record down to 8-7. As for Tarbut V' Torah, the win got them back to even at 5-5.

Avalon might still be hurting after the 3-0 loss they got from Tarbut V' Torah when the teams last played back in August of 2024. Can the Lancers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
