Volleyball Recap: Independence Knights vs. Liberty Redhawks
Independence lost against Liberty back in October of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Independence Knights came up short against the Liberty Redhawks, falling 3-0. The Knights haven't had much luck with the Redhawks recently, as the team's come up short the last five times they've met.
The final score came out to 25-15, 25-13, 25-18.
Liberty was led to victory by Riley Wong and Morgan Ferguson. Wong had four digs and 20 assists, while Ferguson had eight digs and two aces. Wong is on a roll when it comes to assists, as she's now posted 13 or more in the last 14 games she's played dating back to last season.
Independence's loss dropped their record down to 15-10. As for Liberty, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 19-7.
Independence will challenge Frisco at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Liberty, they will venture away from home to challenge Memorial at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Liberty is looking to tack on another W to their five-game streak on the road.
