Basketball Game Preview: Blessed Sacrament-Huguenot Knights vs. Wakefield School Fighting Owls

The Blessed Sacrament-Huguenot Knights will square off against the Wakefield School Fighting Owls at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.

Blessed Sacrament-Huguenot heads in on the heels of a playoff matchup on Saturday. They took a 36-27 hit to the loss column at the hands of Brunswick Academy. The Knights have struggled against the Vikings recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive lost matchup.

Despite the loss, Blessed Sacrament-Huguenot saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Molly Hamner posted nine points and seven boards. Hamner has been hot recently, having also posted two or more steals the last three times she's played.

Meanwhile, Wakefield School has relied on a stalwart defense averaging 20.19 points allowed per game, but that average took a hit on Friday. They had to suffer through a 56-26 loss at the hands of Highland.

Blessed Sacrament-Huguenot's defeat dropped their record down to 10-10. As for Wakefield School, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 11-5.

Blessed Sacrament-Huguenot took a serious blow against Wakefield School in their previous meeting back in February of 2015, falling 54-22.
