Baseball Recap: New Milford Gets the Win

New Milford won the last time they faced Cliffside Park and things went their way on Thursday too. The Knights skirted past the Raiders 5-3.

Liam Block and Luis Placido did most of the damage at the plate: Block went 2-for-4 with one triple, one run, and one RBI, while Placido went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases and one run. That triple marked the first that Block has hit this season. Glen Murata was another key player, going 1-for-3 with three RBI and one double.

New Milford picked up their first road win, bumping their record up to 5-3. As for Cliffside Park, they moved to 5-6 with that loss, which also ended their three-game winning streak.

Looking ahead, New Milford will face off against Fort Lee at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Knights' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Bridgemen have averaged an impressive 8.5 runs per game this season. As for Cliffside Park, they will square off against Memorial at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.
