Soccer Recap: Gardner-Edgerton Comes Up Short in High-Profile Matchup with Lawrence

Gardner-Edgerton faced Lawrence in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Tuesday. The Trailblazers fell just short of the Lions by a score of 2-1. Gardner-Edgerton were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Lawrence apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in March of 2024.

Gardner-Edgerton's goal came courtesy of Lana Bayles, who's now up to four this season.

This is the second loss in a row for Gardner-Edgerton and nudges their season record down to 3-3. As for Lawrence, they now have a winning record of 4-3.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Gardner-Edgerton will take on rival Olathe East at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Lawrence is set to challenge their familiar foe Mill Valley on Thursday.
