Softball Recap: Lakeside's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Monday

It was fun while it lasted, but Lakeside's undefeated season came to an end after nine games on Monday. They fell just short of the Logansport Tigers by a score of 15-14. The pitching woes were uncharacteristic for the Warriors, who until this contest were averaging 2.9 runs allowed.

Meredith Robinson and Raleah Harris stepped up to the plate in a big way. Robinson scored two runs while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances, while Harris scored two runs while going 4-for-5. That's the most hits Harris has posted since back in February of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Rhea Waller, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-5.

They weren't the only ones working in the hit department: Lakeside kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

Having lost for the first time this season, Lakeside fell to 9-1. As for Logansport, their win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 8-4.

Looking ahead, Lakeside will challenge Red River at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Lakeside is on an 11-game streak of home wins (dating back to last season), Red River a three-game streak of away wins -- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the field. We've got a battle between Tigers coming up.
