Softball Recap: Amundsen Starts Season with Win Against Evergreen Park

Amundsen had to kick off their season on the road on Monday, but they showed no ill effects. They came out on top against the Evergreen Park Mustangs by a score of 9-6.

Allie Reynolds made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run while striking out eight over 4.2 innings pitched. Reynolds was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.

In other batting news, Amundsen got a big performance out of Ashley Ellevog, who scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances. Kate Frey was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one triple and two RBI.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Amundsen will venture away from home to take on Fenwick at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Evergreen Park, they are packing up and heading out on the road for their first away game this season: they will face off against Stagg at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
