Basketball Recap: Westland Takes a Loss

Westland lost against Westerville South back in March of 2015 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Westland Cougars lost to the Westerville South Wildcats on the road by a 65-49 margin. The Cougars have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

When it comes to explaining why Westland lost, don't look at Breaker Heller Jr.. Despite the final result, he went 9 of 13 en route to 23 points and three steals. Heller Jr. has been hot recently, having posted three or more steals the last three times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Samajey Andrews, who went 5 of 9 on his way to 10 points and seven rebounds.

Westland's defeat dropped their record down to 4-9. As for Westerville South, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-6.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Westland will square off against Hayes at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Westerville South, they will challenge Worthington Kilbourne at 7:30 p.m. on January 17th.
