Volleyball Recap: Cedar Ridge Takes a Loss

After flying high against Manor on Friday, Cedar Ridge came back down to earth. The Raiders fell 3-1 to the Vandegrift Vipers on Tuesday. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Vipers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-1 back in September.

The defeat didn't mean the game wasn't competitive: Vandegrift scored at least 17 points in every set. The match finished with set scores of 25-22, 25-19, 18-25, 25-17.

Jamison Smith had an outrageously good game for Vandegrift as she had 12 digs and five aces. Those five aces gave Smith a new career-high. Isobel Cullen was another key player, getting 14 digs and two assists.

Cedar Ridge has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 18-16 record this season. As for Vandegrift, they now have a winning record of 20-19.

Cedar Ridge wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 3-2 win against Hutto on the 10th. As for Vandegrift, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-1 loss against Stony Point on the 10th.
